Music Concerts
What music concerts have you been to and were they any good?
Its one of my regrets in life that I havnt been to more concerts. Only been to a handful.
Ive seen Status Quo. They were fantastic.
Alice cooper. Beyond fantastic with the stage theatrics.
Spandau Ballet. Not my cup of tea but the ex wanted to go see them when they reunited. Had a surprisingly good night.
Seen a few lesser known act from the 80's...Thunder, Quireboys etc.
A friend of mine went to a Jam concert and said they were awful live.

Saw the Rolling Stones at Twickenham in 2003 and they were fantastic but saw them in other venues and OK but not the same. Eurythmics Peace Tour (London Arena) were amazing, Brian Ferry at Shepherds Bush Empire and George Michael at Wembly Arena (christmas 2006) were probably my favourites.
saw Queen in Hammersmith on the tour where they were the support act to Mott the Hoople in 1973. same year saw ELP at Wembley, and the following year was at Charlton where The Who headlined (along with Lou Reed, Montrose, Lindisfarne, Humble Pie, etc). a really good gig was in a small venue at Yarmouth in 1977, Showaddywaddy - the thing about that gig was the band members moved from instrument to instrument, all were talented all rounders.
My daughter is a bit of a gig fiend and I've accompanied her to concerts by REM, Meatloaf, Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi.
it really doesn't matter who you see. If the musicians are competent, confident and enthusiastic about their craft, you'll have a great few hours.
I always thought that Ebay was responsible for ticket price increases. Yes, you always had the ticket touts outside of the venue (got brilliant Randy Crawford tickets that way) but once Ebay started and online touts bought up loads of tickets then sold them for ridiculous prices the promoters thought "Hang on, if that's what people are prepared to pay then why aren't we charging that price?" That's when prices became silly.
