No, I think it was a number of things including people wanting a change.  We shall have have to see how that one goes.

That may be because you aren't here so it would be difficult for you to judge the situation well.

I don't remember Labour campaigning vehemently for REMAIN in 2016🙄

Shedman 09.51. I disagree with you. I think the real reason that your party got such a hammering at the GE and what people were thinking, was all to do with Brexit and how it has affected their lives 8 years on and the way that pillock Johnson went about it all.You are right about people wanting a change though. They changed the Tory govt for a Labour govt

The thing is,it just wasnt right-wingers who wanted Brexit.Probably the most left-wing union leader in Britain ,Mick Lynch ,openly campaigned for Brexit,Corbyn also didnt do a lot to help the cause either, his silence on Brexit was deafening.

"  Do you think that Brexit. Which was created by the ex outgoing Tory Govt was the real reason the Tories took such a hammering at General Election....I do😎"

You have linked two events because that helps your argument, it doesn't make it true. By the way, this"😎"suits you. You have probably heard the old saying," There are non so blind as those who don't wish to see".

OG said //And the EU have to follow our regulations too if they wish to trade here, so you are trying to make a point where none exists.//

Most won’t bother (like that major white goods manufacturer), and those that do will realise that they can charge a premium price for their goods (which are unique for the UK market).

But that’s just another Brexit gain, along with the £100 billion a year Brexit is costing us – who would dare call those who voted for Brexit stupid?

52% voted for brexit and according to hymie they are all stupid, right oh! So the majority of the UK are stupid, who'd have thunk it!

Vulcan 10.20 "There are non so blind as those who don't  wish to see"  You are correct. Your party lost big time and will be out of the race for at least a decade you lot are yesterdays chip paper 🤣suck it up🤣.

Hymie, //who would dare call those who voted for Brexit stupid?//

You would - and eight years on, regardless of the number of times people here have explained their reasoning, you continue.  I can only conclude that your comprehension is as restricted as your vocabulary.

The UK deal with the EU is up for review in 2025.And Labour will be the party "Now in Power with a huge majority" That will be doing the negotiating with Brussels, over any changes they want to make to the current agreement. Which I fear will be sending shivers down a few spines of Brexiteers

gulliver, I am not one of "you lot", I abhor  modern day politicians as they are all members of the "what's in it for me" brigade. This of course also includes those that you admire so much. Your point about Labour rejoining the EU just helps to prove what I said the other day, that Labour will now waste billions undoing what the Conservatives did as they, the Conservatives, will do in the future, to the Labour policies.

If Labour get it right we could get the best of both worlds. We could keep our independence but also have better trading ties with Europe. It is a Win Win situation.

A major white goods manufacturer would have pulled out of the UK.

I think you're lying.

No business leader worth his salt would pull out of a market as large as us.

The UK’s 60 million people is dwarfed by the EU’s 450 million citizens, added to which is the fact that many countries outside the EU accept CE marking – it would not be unreasonable to guestimate the world-wide market (accepting CE marking) to be close to a population of 1 billion.

Why worry about a market worth around 6% of your total customer base – of course if market forces are such that you can charge double for your products in the UK, then maybe they will consider it worth setting up a separate production line.

My opinion of you being a liar hasn't changed.

I've seen it on this site so many times over the years where posters make up a story or scenario to support their argument.

This is one of them.

You're a liar.

Looks like Keir has started to open the door to rejoin the EU.   The PM is discussing a freedom of movement  deal for young people with the Spanish PM . Allowing Spanish young people to live in the UK.
