I think, like the government, some ABers are finding government a lot more difficult than Opposition! 😉

Doing something seems to be proving a greater challenge than previously thought.
Starmer is beginning to look like a ditherer, & reminds me of the story of Buridan's Ass, who ends up dying from both thirst and hunger, because he was placed exactly midway between a stack of hay and a pail of water and therefore could not reach a decision.
I feel guilty; but it's nice to see the rightish lot feeling a bit pee'd off because they lost. They do seem to be turning more right-wing radical, which is sad - it does mean that AB politics section is full of boring bitterness. There seems to be more support for Trump (a Dickensian novel character's name if ever there was one!)
“If I was to make some proposal of a course of action that the UK government should take, and that action will result the UK government losing £40 billion a year in reduced tax revenue, people would think I was mad - but to Brexiteers it is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.”
They might do or they might not. It depends on why you were asking them to take such action.
“I doubt the Brexit supporters would care if the loss was £100 billion a year (or more) in tax revenue”
Once again it depends. This time it depends how much they value he country’s soul. For me, as I’m sure you know, no price is too high to pay. Nor would any amount cause me to rethink my position.
But I seem to recall we’ve done all this once or twice before.
