I've just re-discovered it after all these years: with a glass of red wine, - ambrosia!  It may become my staple diet.

Mine is bread, baked in a wood-fired oven, salted butter & blackcurrant jam.

Are there any other jam butty aficionados out there ?

I think Ken Dodd was the patron saint.

I have mine with vintage cheddar or marmite but unsalted butter and any red fruit jam

I'm more of an 'on toast' fan than a 'jam butty' one.

I've recently discovered this though, which (irrespective of what you decide to spread it on) I can thoroughly recommend:

(Also sold in Morrisons, although not on their website).

Italian toasting bread with salted cornish butter and pineapple jam for me.

Omg they all,sound like heaven!

I lean more to the savoury with unicorn rump on artisan walnut bread (GF) a sprinkling of manna from heaven all resting on home-churned Brigadoon butter with Himalayan salt through it.

And a mug of Yorkshire tea with six sugar.

I like to add some vintage cheddar, or Cornish cruncher cheese to the blackcurrant jam sandwich.

I really only buy one brand and flavour of jam.

It is lovely as a 'Jam Piece', in a wrap or straight off the spoon.

Does lemon curd count as jam?

This post prompted memories , I loved a lemon curd sandwich.  But they're probably better in memory than in reality.
