The intention is for the best but will the reality prove rather more tricky?

No intelligent individual is going to freely give their financial, or passport, or whatever private details, to some website they visit unless they are making a purchase. The industry will just get moved from UK sites to foreign sites.
It's just more idiocy from government, as per usual. An attempt at censorship disguised as 'thinking of the children' (presumably because many parents don't).
If there were any morals and values of the past it looks like they've long gone. While there has always been a measure of porn about for years it was never exposed to young children like it is now, the younger the child seeing it the more damage it does to their head.
Whats the answer? I've no idea now its been allowed to go this far.
I was using a facebook Angling site not to long back, but stopped using it because of the filth thats being posted, they can't seem to stop it happening, or dont want to, in fact FB seems to be bogged down with it of late. If it shocks me than god knows what its doing to young minds.

Absolutley not especially to a porn site, they would become a target for hacking and then blackmail. Anyone remember Ilicit Encounters?
//it was never exposed to young children like it is now,//
Well no, there was no internet. But kids were exposed or perhaps you have forgotten the Porn often found in hedges etc? It was widely available when I was a schoolboy, wore myself out with it 😁
"If its impossible to police, then labour or anyone else is not to blame, other than the site owners. OK"
Nobody is suggesting that it is Labour's fault that porn exists or that it is impossible to police.
The criticism arises (as it does with many of the measures the current government proposes) because the intended measures have not a hope in hell of producing the desired outtcome. It is true of so many things they propose and shows there seems to be nobody capable of properly thinking through the consequences of their proposals.
