The CAA deny there was a near miss and say the photograph is deceptive. Yet they also say planes should be two and half miles apart and no amount of false perspective in this photo makes them that far apart!

After reading forums by people who know what they are talking about on airliners.net (pilots mainly) i'm convinced it was something and nothing.
I thought i understood foreshortening in telephoto lenses but i obviously dont know enough.
Now this is really foreshortening:
