I just cant make my mind up either - like the Jury.He will not now be re-tried regarding the murder of Billie-Jo.

Just cant understand why, when she obviously has such a large natural family, she was placed in foster care in the first place. As they are so concerned and as I type are making a fuss at the court, why did one of her family members not take her in.

So basically under Scottish Law its a Not Proven verdict - a very contentious verdict here.

What do others make of this case?

Pikey 'round there 'ere parts (which is not that far from the scene of the crime) is a word often used for chavs.

the police havnt followed up reports that an unknown man was observing the house for several hours while Sion and his other girls were at a diy store.

Apparently, this man has been investigated and was found to have a alibi for the time of the murder.

In response to some of the other posts, I'm not surprised that his ex wife hates him seeing as reports released today (which were witheld from the jury) state that he is a wife beater prone to losing his temper at the drop of a hat and then regaining his composure just as quickly. He had also assaulted Billie Jo previously. There was also some forensic evidence regarding fragments of Billie Jo's bones found on Sion Jenkins clothes which was witheld from the jury.

I don't know whether he murdered Billie Jo or not but he is certainly a most unpleasant character.

gedk - That info was divulged when he was found guilty so I cant understand why it wasnt presented to Juries in subsequent trials.

I dont like him and that is just a gut instinct. That,as I said before, does not make someone a murderer.Anyway apart from the fact he has his liberty he also is married to a millionare (who looks like she could be his mother, but I'm sure it was love which brought them together),who he met I believe when she was a prison visitor

I think guilty or not he is an ace manipulator.(Ace not in the complimentary sense)

He is never gonna have a normal life now, no smoke without fire blah blah (not necessarily my opinion). Its not even like he was found not guilty. The tragic tragic thing is a 13 yr old girl was murdered and yet again the British Justice system has failed a victim. I totally agree with what has been said about her natural family. There is not one child in my family network that i would not take in if needed.

PIKEY, as far as I am aware has nothing to do with chavs, it is normally associated with gypsy and travellers (not the softy new age type). Bit like Brad Pitt in Snatch. They want to "buy their ma a caravan"!!

Goodsoulette - I agree wholehearedly re the natural family.I have had problems with my daughter and family took her and looked after her in order to give her breathing space. There was no question that any member of my family would have done the same even down to my cousins rather than allow her to become part of the system.Thats what families are for.(She is brill now and we all pulled together and got through it).

A pikey is commonly perceived as a low life nowadays rather than the original derivitave. You'll have seen them going about.Actually if you read through the link Drusilla provided it explaind it better than I could (very funny BTW!)

flip-flop - I don't think you are in full knowledge of all the facts. This man didn't just 'upgrade' a couple of CSE's - he established a career as a teacher - a headmaster no less - on the basis of a completely manufactured CV - a fake degree, and a fake teaching diploma. He even claimed to be an old boy of Gordonstoun, yet flunked his education with mediocre qualifications, and a diploma in PE (not denigrating that all you PE'ers out there - its the stuff he lied about on top of that I'm getting at, not that PE is in any way a 'poor' qualification)

You are missing my point - this is a man who is clearly adept at deception on a grand scale - prior to this he had obviously been pretty successful in deceiving everyone in his professional life, and his own wife as to his background. Had he not been good at this deception i.e. a poor teacher, he would have been found out on that count. Yet he felt he could cheat and lie over a period of many years to his own advantage. Doesn't that bother you?

I don't have kids, but if I did and thier Headmaster had fake qualifications I'd want a very detailed explanation why!?

The faking per se doesn't make him a murderer, but it shows the kind of person he is.

Your comments about 'Pikey relatives' are hardly relevant.

Like what I said he is an ace manipulator.

I feel for his own girls - how confused they must be.

A classmate ,good friend, and neighbour of mine was brutally murdered at the age of 13 in 1978. Four men were found guilty but released many years later after it was "proved" to be a miscarriage of justice.

The investigation has never been re-opened,what does this say?

It will be interesting to see if the police will pursue this tragic case,or if ,in the event of no-one else being tried, they believe their original convictions.
