Preventing the course of justice?

I cannot help but feel sorry for Maxine Carr who prevented the course of justice in a murder case.I can honestly say that if my girlfriend commited a murder I would not tell the police.And before you take the opportunity to be nasty to me in a recent poll 70 percent of women said they would lie if their partner murdered someone.Would you lie if your partner murdered someone?

i would love my partner so much it hurts, but the second this man i love dearly committed an act like this, my love for him would shrivel like a prune and turn to hate and disgust.

sexyrussian - are you saying that your 'extra strong' love would stay intact if you discovered this person had killed 2 children??

I know this is a seperate argument but in my opinion what Holly's father did was in one way worse then what Maxine Carr did.He used the murder of his own child to get money from writing a book and appearing on countless T.V shows.Not very respectful at all.

My answer to the above question is yes.Although I would like to think that if my partner killed someone I would disown her forever I cannot say I would In fact I would probobly convince myself she was sorry and stay with her or I would belive her if she said she was telling the truth and that she had not done anything.

Sexyrussian. Have you actually even read the book he wrote about his daughter? I doubt it because if you had you would know why he had and it wasn't to make money! In all honesty I am actually shocked and disgusted by your comment!

i would imagine to write a book about his story would be a great oulet for his grief. theres nothing wrong in that. I doubt 100% theat he did it for the money. that is such a cynical thing to say. No-one here, thank God, can imagine how thoses parents felt.When i had a miscarriage some years ago, by writing it all down, it made the grieving process easier! Do not call a man for that.

Being ever so slightly more intelligent than you, & also being a parent, I gather that the book was actually written as something positive about his daughter. It must be appalling to have just that one lasting memory of your child. A book of memories is a fantastic thing to do.

Not being a Mother , i think you do not have a clue what you are talking about.You haven't a clue of the love a parent has for a child, obviously. If thats REALLY the way you think then i suggest you go away and think it through properly! I've never heard anything so silly.

It is not just me who thinks he did it for money.Richard and Judy openly talked about their views on the matter.If he wanted to write a book then by all means do it but there was no need to publish it and charge people tu buy it, also he did not need to go on all those T.V shows.I am sorry but I think he did it for the money and publicity.We will just have to disagree.

How can he publish a book without charging for it? in any case, the family deserve a good life & I am sure any monies received have helped them have just a small amount of enjoyment in life ~ Ian Huntley & Maxine Carr are getting all that at the taxpayers expense.

he did not need to publish it.last i heard was the book was an absolute flop and they were selling all the books off at a reduced price a few months ago in a book shop where i live

man writes a book and gets a few quid, (that i am 100% sure he'd set fire to if it meant he could have his daughter back) or twisted little freak defends his psycho murderer girlfriend after she butchers two children...mmm... i know who i'd like to meet in a dark alley armed with a pointed stick.

i love the 'outraged indignation' about someone writing a book and the callous sneer that it wasn't a bestseller!!

i'm sure the murdered girls dad was devastated that his literary career didn't take off...

i hope for your sake you are 13 years old because otherwise this is very very sad.

I think we have to remember that "no one is a hero ahead of time" which means we just do not know how we would act. We think we know but until it comes to it, we don't.
