where should i go on holiday?
Hi there,
I have already posted asking where we should go in November. Thank you to those who replied. I have been searching on the internet for suitable holidays but it just isn't the same reading what a travel agent has said about a place compared to people who have actually been and tell the truth!
Ok, we are now looking at going in sep/oct so it has to be hot. We are a 26/27 yr old couple. We love meals out and the odd cocktail/beer/wine in different bars. Really not into the club scene now we're getting older! We love people watching and a choice of entertainment would be nice but not essential. We would prefer to stay in a secure self catering apartment complex with a swimming pool and pool bar. Near a beach and the resort centre is ideal. We don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere, neither do we want to be surrounded by 18-30's foam parties!! Not too many kids around us either! (no offence, we have a 3 yr old of our own and we are having a holiday from him- as much as we love him!) Pretty little village with choice of bars and restaurants is ideal.
Please advise of your holiday experiences if you think we might like it. Where you went, which resort and hotel. Thanks!!

Hope this helps.
Ditto tripadvisor for reviews. If you want to get really picky about the flights as well see: www.seatguru.com and www.airlinequality.net for reviews and stuff if you are putting together the trip yourself.
Destinations - what budget? Certainly one to try is Cyprus - go to Polis on North coast - fly to Paphos and hire a car to get to Polis. Quiet, untouristy, good food and friendly place.
Paphos is also good but getting more developed now, but still good choice of accommodation. See the agrotourism info at http://www.agrotourism.com.cy for some good choices. Used these before - different locations, so you choose the best that suits your itinerary.
Not for the first time, I'm seconding nickmo's suggestions! Perhaps we should both get a rake-ff from the Cyprus Tourist Board! Polis is a very nice little town with some really good restaurants and an unspoilt beach - and most of the damage cause by the bombs and shells of the Turkish Air Force in 1974 has now been restored! Also Latchi is only a few minutes away, and you are on the edge of the Akamas if nature-watching and unspoilt wilderness is your thing. You do need a car, though - there's only one bus a day, early morning, 5 days a week, to & from Paphos.
Agrotourism is also a good bet, but you won't find this accommodation near a beach. I'd offer to lend you our stone village house, but it's 3000 feet up in the mountains (and we'll probably be there ourselves in September!)
Enjoy!
