Terrorism in Canada

Did anyone read or hear anything recently about a terrorist plot to capture and kill the Canadian Premier ?

I heard it on BBCs Question Time - I believe - from the Labour Minister Milliband. Decapitation was mentioned. But I thought a story like this would have drawn far more publicity ???

big headline's then as more information came out, quietly fades. suspicious at best being as canada is about to do it's five year review on it's anti-terror laws, and after minimal invovment until harper was elected, then immediately against citizen's wishes we are in afghanistan and now stand against world popular opinion against the new threat (the dreaded hezbollah) iraq and alqueda going the way of osama bin laden, as the media switches channels on us yet once again. the csis and rcmp with the help of a mole(stories indicate not a passive mole)and arranged the sale of 3 tons of fake ammonium nitrate to a group of 17 young individuals that were naively playing terrorist with paintball guns in a wooded area in a toronto suburb(not very smart) but hardly alqueda. and i'm sure on page 23 sometime in the next year or so there will be a column inch stating charges were dropped or found not guilty, and a lot of good innocent canadians will have died in the so called war on terror!

apparently it was called 'operation claymore' which is in itself amusing, google it and all you get is a covert ww2 commando raid.

Good contributions Max - the absence of any real hype on this "story" of itself suggests propaganda. But how many places did you actually see or hear this story reported & what were they ?

not many other than the mainstrem media at first, but there was a news special on with the actual mole (and he was a paid informant)the other night (can't think of his name at the moment) with lyndon mcintyre, one of the journalists from the program ' the fifth estate' gave a relatively fair view of both sides to a degree. heard a couple of different characters on talk radio's view's that didn't jive with the mainstream view, sifted through different articles on the net with obvious exaggerations on both sides. but it would appear the desired effect has come to pass as we are in afghanistan with the brits dealing with mess our neighbours have created and are complicit with the crimes that are being perpetrated on the citizens of lebanon, our terrorism laws have stiffened(or our rights and freedoms have been knocked down another peg) depending on your view. but never came across anything really about the prime minister being decapitated other than the original story. so we will just have to wait and see what comes of it. cheers!
