Public money to fund imams.
So is there a national shortage of loony preachers then? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6718235 .stm WTF is going on in this country? Is this Blair's final act of contempt for the people?

I am certain, and not at all a conspiracy follower that Blair is paid millions by terrorists and/or he is a muslim himself. Look at the evidence
1) We are in two wars against muslim countries yet he ill-equips our guys and seemes to spend more money on bloody muslims than our soldiers.
2) He vigorously defends muslims in this country, bowing to their every whim and need.
3) His wife is a millionaire defending them around the world.
4) His own religion is in doubt. One minute COE then a catholic. The man is insecure.
5) He seems to back away from the Pro-Jew/Israeli stance of Major and Thatcher.
6) He lack of support for our bobbies when the Brazillian guy De Mendez was shot
6) There has been no threat to his life from muslims. The only security risk I can think of is the Fathers for Justice one. Perhaps they know. Afterall they are exempt from prosecution in the UK (near enough)
There may be more. I hate the guy with a passion. I hope he and his rubber lipped hound of a wife die a painful death involving a razor-edged anal probe.

Lets not forget who seems to be the main financial benefator from the HRA. Husband drafts a bill in, wife makes bucket loads from it. 10yrs ago Labour would have been screaming sleaze from the top of the rooftops.
Oh yes, forgot. With this lot its do as I say not as I do.
Dont expect it to change under po faced brown. (Least his missus is presentable though)

The man is a complete maniac, why is he still given the power to dish out our hard earned cash when he will be out of office on June 27?
Let us make June 27 a public hoilday, with bonfires across the nation, but no points given for guessing who could take the part of the Guy, why pick on poor old Fawlks all the time?
Put the Tony on top, yes it has a certain ring to it.

Oooh, it's 'PC gone mad' in this country, isn't it?
Fancy trying to address the issue of how to try and ensure that a particular community's religious leaders hold moderate views compatible with British values, given the problems of extremists from abroad, eh? That Blair, he's a rum 'un, and make no mistake. Probably in league with the very devil... 8-|
So... given that you're opposed to this solution, and given that short of finding someone to rid you of all these troublesome priests it's a problem that won't go away, you presumably prefer to retain foriegn imams?
That or some sort of 'final solution'?

Final solution???
Yes!!!
Death to Islam, death to terrorism and put an end to immigration form any country that history, and indeed modern times, has proved to be incompatable with the British way of life.
We don't more imams from abroad, what will thay cause. If the home grown ones are evil, what the hell are the imported ones going to be like? Lord only knows.

it is strange to see a few of the people here that disagree with this move - you are usually all for discouraging foreign types from coming to these shores, and yet here you are endorsing the situation of potentially radical imams that don't necessarily hold british values in very high esteem being imported into the country as we do not have enough british citizens to fill the posts.
if foreign imams are peaching anti western politics in this county and stirring up racial hatred then surely you should agree with the training of some moderate brits

The problem is that the so called "Moderate" muslims won't put their own house in order. Now if they start excommunicating (islam equivalent word?) the nutters and condeming them then we may just start to believe that they do not secretly agree with the extremists. At the moment the stated aim is the cleansing of the infidel and the establishement of sharia law. I have yet to hear any muslim state this is not the case and to condem the extremeists within their ranks. Until then they are giving tacit approval to the nutters as far as I am concerned. As for importing extremist imams, err how do they get work permits? Have we got government reps scouring the middle east or is it that they are illigal immigrants popping up as preachers of hate in the back rooms of the Mosques?
oh good grief not every muslim is a terrorist and the religion is not based on killing non-believers or establishing sharia law (i am under the impression the Koran doesn't mention sharia law)... go meet some muslims and i'm sure they'll tell you the same thing but that doesn't make good news so you won't often see them in the papers or on telly rather it will be the tiny minority of radicals that get all the paper and tv coverage
Given you live in a community where there are fraudsters falsely claiming benefits, muggers, drug addicts, litter louts, murderers, rapists and probably even child abusers, yet you do absolutely *nothing* to stop such travesties, I find it incredible that you dare ask someone else to weed out *their* nutters.
But you make no sense!
On the one hand you deplore Sharia law by the back door, on the other, you insist it's down to the Muslim community to police itself.
However, the vast majority of people in that community will be no more able to shop an extremist than you or I are able to shop a rapist for the simple reason that we don't know who they are!
It's not as simple as going, 'that one over there is forever spouting on about how violence is the cure, so let's nab him,' otherwise all you end up with is the Muslim version of Ward-Minter. Offensive, certainly, but essentially just a mouthy inadequate who spouts noxious views to get attention. The one who's going to plant a bomb on a tube train isn't going to be obvious about it.

Why didn't they expell captain hook when he was preaching hate outside Finsbury park, Ditto all the other extremists? That's what I'm getting at, why are they not publicly denouncing Bin Laden and Co? Why are they not condeming London/NY/Madrid ? I think you know what I'm getting at Waldo, I'm surprised you are hiding behind some leap of logic based on a "shop your local fundementalist" line. If moderate muslims did something of a headline nature and I'm not just talking about the UK either, then their claims to being moderate would have more credibility. At the moment they are seen as giving tacit approval.
