your an office cleaner, who starts work 10 pm to midnight, on the way to work one day on a friday your listening to the radio, and for some reason you memorize the winning lottery numbers,
anyway you get to work and as your cleaning you find a lottery ticket with those numbers on someones desk,
I couldn't do it, seriously, it's theft. I couldn't live with myself.
I think I would tape the ticket to the desk, to make sure it won't go anywhere, and leave a "congratulations" post it next to it.
With my bank details under it.....lol
What if I accidentally hoovered it up from the desk!! And then when emptying the bin noticed it again (in tacked) and then just forgot where I hoovered it up from!!!!
go on max -think about it -you could !!! They would bloody do it to you -its dog eat dog -no time for conscience (and I really do have one) -in this world. You would get no thanks at all -guaranteed !!
I remember once being in Homebase and before my eyes I saw a major scam going on -it was real and very well thought out. They were basically taking almost pallets of furniture out the store and loading them into vans -but because they had the nerve no-one was challenging them as they went and excused themselves through the checkouts with their laden trollies.I wayched and tho7ught eff this -so I said to the assistant (on the side) what i thought was happening -she got the manager on the QT but by this point they had realised that hawkeye (me) had clicked on and they scarpered.
Did they even so much as thank me in Homebase -no not a cheep -they just went out and got the thousands and thousands of gear back-so I am now of the opinion -tough t!tties -lol
But you would be messing up someone else's life Paul! what if they'd seen the numbers come up and knew they had the winning ticket?? Imagine the state they'd be in when they couldn't find it on their desk!
Max is right again, as ever. If it were on the floor or in the bin then who does it belong to anyway? But taking it off someone's desk is just stealing. What if this ticket were in someone's wallet, and you were the cleaner there? Would you think you had the right to search through that person's wallet just because you were there?
Just 2 hours work per night, that's a very short shift. I can see you need to supplement your income somehow though.
I feel like a wimp now after reading the other answers lol but I would have to hand it over to the rightful owner & hope they were grateful enough to give me some :)
I found a purse in a pub toilet once & handed it in, turned out to be one of the barmaids, & had all her wages in it. The miserable bint didn't even buy me a half to say thank you. but even with that happening to me I'd still hand the ticket over!
