who is running this country ?
political correctness gone mad ?
the press whip up a frenzy about some childish prank and even the pm has nothing better to do than have his twopenn'orth
so why did we all need to know ?
yet if some one goes on live tv and threatens to kill maim and injure then nothing more is said !!!
if the press have that much power then perhaps they should start to address some of the more emotional issues , such as lenient court sentencing !!

No to us as license payers it doesn't seem that hard, but this is the Beeb we're talking about.
If Andrew Sachs decides to sue along with his grandaughter, who do you think will be paying the bill. It won't be JR or RB Or the BBC.
It will be us, the licence payer.
No doubt they'll be back on our screens & on the radio in the future, but if they are, I for one won't tune in.

If all the people who have made complaints to the BBC, or who feel the same about them do the same, then they won't have an audience to pander to.
Both of them are a couple of overpaid @rseholes in my opinion. I have always wondered how anybody could find JR in the slightest bit funny. Of course, they should both have been sacked. Then we can read Episode 2 ... how JR, through his solicitors, is suing the BBC for a few million. Good riddance to the pair of them. I hope !!
You know the 'overpaid' line that people are taking?

Thing is...and this is going to annoy some people...but they're not overpaid.

They're paid the going rate, not for the job, but because they pull in ABC1 viewers/listeners.

It's the same as Ant & Dec, Paul O'Grady, Vernon Kaye and (formerly) Davina McCall.

You may not like them, but the thing is - they are highly prized individuals.

If they were milkmen, then yes, you could say they're overpaid...but they're not.
Also, what does this have to do with political correctness???
Tigerlily Andrew Sachs made a choice in being Manuel; he did not make a choice in this humiliation.

I think the BBC are in a very tricky situation right now. JR is their big thing at the mo and, should he resign, there is always the chance he spill the beans about the beeb. I bet he has a few stories to tell. I think they will have to treat him extremely carefully these next few days.

Btw I only saw one clip but I was led to believe JR instigated most of the foul play and then RB got extremely carried away with it.

My other point: why was Chris Moyles never picked up over his targeting of Nicola from Girls Aloud. Imho that too was verbal bullying....bet he won't be mentioning her name again. Lucky boy got away with it.

Who knows what else is said and not broadcast though; surely the producer has been sacked by now.
can we have less of this nonsense about Ross being paid 18 million a year? He isn't. Nothing remotely like it.
No - but isn't he being paid 18 million over THREE years? Whatever - it's far too much. I personally like JR, even though he may be over-rated, but his and Russell's remarks were out of order. At least, childish, at the worst, nasty and offensive. I think the senior producer who gave the green light for the broadcast should be sacked, JR take a massive drop in wages - and RB just forgotten about.
He has nice eyes though.
it's over three years, but it isn't just him, it's his production company - in other words, they have to use the money to make the shows (and employ tea ladies, develop the scripts, pay the gas bills, whatever). So it's not 6 mill vanishing into his pockets either. My guess would be it doesn't make him a whole lot more profit than the Daily Mail editor gets.

None of which means I like either of them much, or think that this has anything to do with Cameron or Brown. I also don't like Max Clifford or the Mail. When I hear a Satanic **** has hired Clifford to represent her in her one-night affair with a foul mouthed comedian, I do wonder if I'm living on the wrong planet.

I do like the beeb, though, but they need to stop hiring idiots.
well, there you go, I can't even give the name of her group, it's so vulgar. Perhaps while she is busy blaming everyone else she could learn to be a bit more sparing with her favours; that way she'd be less likely to embarrass her grandfather.
True enough, but you don't expect some guy to broadcast what he's been getting up to, do you - to the girl's grandfather!

maybe so again...but to tell her GRANDAD????

Didn't know that! Hmmm....

there was amillion signature petition on the downing street website to stop road tolls .
did the government jump then ?

idiots

both torys and labour were glad to deflect form the credit crunch and money worries for a few days.

call me a cynic

but im right
johnny.5....I don't call the a 'childish prank' these men are old enough to know better than to embarrass a g.dad. They put themselves on pedestals and deserve to be knocked off.

What about the offence to the girl concerned? JR has teenage daughters am sure he wouldn't appreciate them being sired by RB, who is convinced he's the stud for UK.

Sorry - that last bit made me laugh!!

You reckon there was method in their madness then leggy?
teram

i reckon the girl concerned liked the offence russel brand gave her and im sure she will receive many more from other such strange men when shes trawling for some more

shes such an innocent

my bottom she is
So...you think probs this little story came out at the right time for her?
