Her parents have released new footage of her talking, in a video. It is all so sad.
What do you think, is she still alive?
Only the person knows that took her.

You say that as if you know for sure, Eddie.
Having been sorely abused on hols in Portugal - I wouldn't put anything passed them.

My suspects are the baby-sitting service who were not used and thought they would 'shake the mums' but didn't expect the results.

Someone will find Maddie and I hope it's soon. Thanx to whoever is sponsoring her cause.
It is desperately sad.
In my heart of hearts I don't think she is still alive.
Question Author
You really think she is still alive, terambulin ?
What do you think, cab?
Question Author
Mrs o difficult to say at the beginning there were in my mind a couple of ideas but now after so long I really think she is not with us.
Do you remember little Ben Needham that was a strange case as well ?
Yes.....and I pray she is!
Yes, I remember Ben Needham. I think he would be around 18 now.
With Maddie I think the publicity was so great that if she was still alive it would have been impossible for the person who abducted her to take her anywhere.
The inept Portuguese Police have a lot to answer for.
Question Author
That is true Mrs O.
People have come up with stuff that was so believable as if they knew but it has all come to nothing.
Who are these people?
It is a tragedy .
Yet another case for a nationwide DNA base even for those who are innocent. If we had the power of influence then other countries could participate. They may be able to run but could not hide forever.
The people who have the most to answer for are obviously

1. whoever took her
2. Her parents, who neglected their responsibilities on that
evening.

I am sick and tired of people blaming the Portuguese police.

I hope she is alive, but I really do doubt it.

Some of the ideas on this thread are totally ridiculous. I have holidays in Portugal for years in the area of Madeleine's disappearance. I have found the Algarve people to be some of the most trustworthy and kind that I have ever met.

So so sad. Poor little girl & I feel so desperately sorry for her parents - how do they bear it.

I doubt she is still alive, but I dearly hope she is alive & cared for somewhere. I have an idea though what did happen to her, and I really don't like to even voice it.

Ben Needham however - I do feel he is still alive, just completely unaware of what happened.
Yeas I feel sorry for the parents.

Would these be the parents who:

Left 3 children alone in an unlocked room?
The same mother who constantly screamed at the children every night?
The same father who played tennis all day and left the 3 children in the creche?

Yes I feel so sorry for them

I cant believe that anyone is so gullible to think that she is still alive.
Yes Rev - I do feel sorry for the parents. Whatever they did or did not do, they do not deserve this torment. They loved that little girl - and those without 'sin' as parents - cast the first stone.

80% chance that she was dead after abduction.

LL I too have hollidayed in the Algarve and the people I met were very nice.
If a peodophile ring has abducted her she would be locked up somewhere and never see the light of day again, God forbid but this could be true.
I would quite happily live there cab. Its a very gentle place with a low crime rate. This case caught the public's imagination more than the many other abductions and crimes against children in our own country and so much nonsense has been spoken about the Portuguese/Portuguese police - not the sort of crime that Algarve police except of have much experience of!

The average Portuguese parent would never leave their children, they include their children in everything, and who would now blame them for having a very poor impression of British parents.
