I'm sitting here watching an episode of that classic comedy drama - Minder .

My other half tells me that there is a remake due out in February .

Can you imagine anyone else than Dennis Waterman and George Cole playing the principal characters ? - i cant .

What next - A remake of Fawlty Towers / Only fools and horses / Jeeves & Wooster / Rising Damp ?

Some series are so synonymous with the original actors , they should be left well alone

Anyone agree ?

Actually some of the originals series were made after Waterman left - Gary Webster became the new 'minder' to George Cole

It should have stopped when Dennis waterman left, it was very weak after he went.

But I suppose to the younger ones who don't remember the original this may become a classic.

it isnlt a remake its a sequel, the lead is shane ritchie playing arthur daley's nephew alfie.

Having recently seen an episode, I'd forgotten how bloody funny George Cole was as Arfur.

I don't think I've ever watched anything on Channel 5, so I don't think i'll be going out of my way to watch it.

I thin it may have been better if they just made a completely new series with it. Now it will always be compared with the old Minder and even if it is better it will be conceived as not.
I would love another series of Faulty Towers - but again it should be called something else - there must be plenty of plot lines left for such circumstances but Basil and Manuel could never be replaced.
