Yes it is fair.

We live in a modern democratic country where woman and men are equal.

Men should not be able to tell the woman "they own" to cover up to stop other men lusting after them.

We dont want this medieval behaviour here.

If these people want to be accepted into our society then they have to change.

If they dont like it, go and live somewhere else.

When I read the article in the paper I gave a small cheer, and wish more organizations would come down hard on people like this to make them ralise they are not wlecome if they dress like that.

As far as wearing a hijab or covering her face is concerned then it is her personal choice that she should be allowed in a democratic country. As far as Islam is concerned then it is not compulsory for a woman to cover her face so again it is her personal choice.

Men should not be able to tell the woman "they own" ......... can only come from someone who does not know a bit about Islam. Or actually I should say the one who knows only what he wants to and how he wants to know about Islam. Otherwise you only need two eyes to see that more and more White European women are entering Islam and of course choosing to wear hijab so there must be a good reason behind that. I do not think any Taliban are forcing them in this country.

Finally In Islam Men and women are equal but different and that is the reason behind few things but people start dictating just by looking at the surface. Otherwise if men and women are equal in all sorts of things then please someone writ to Olympic Authorities that why are they making men and women run in two separate 100 meter race and all the other events. Perhaps men and women can use same toilets in the shopping centres. At-least women would not have to queue when men's toilets are completely empty.

Or perhaps when they were calling women only (and of course kids) to board rescue boats just before the Titanic went down, someone (preferably a woman) should have shouted why the hell are you not treating us equal to men But that did not happen.

Yes but unfortunately some of the low life Muslims who have chosen to live here have deciced that planting bombs on trains and buses full of innocent people is an OK thing to do.

So if a school allowed 10 or so of these women to wander round the school with their faces covered we would have no idea who these people were and if any of them were up to no good.

One of them could even be a man dressed up (as has happened before when a cowardly Muslim tried to escape from the British police).

I for one am getting sick to death of this country being RUINED by the behaviour of some Muslims who live here and the quicker they leave this country the better.

And those that choose to stay better shape up as well, or they can leave also.

I had another thought the other day (slightly off topic I know).

When have you ever seen a WOMAN working in a Asian restaurant.

I know they are not all Muslim owners, but I have been in a number of Asian restaurants and NEVER seen a woman working there.

Go to any other restaurant in the UK and at least half the waiters will be women (probably more than half).

But in an Asian restaurant, NONE.

Isnt that a sign of blatant sexism in the Asian restaurant business !!!!

I think it is sad that Muslim women across the world have adopted a more conservative style of dress over the past thirty years. Look at photographs from the cities of Egypt, Iran, Turkey and even Afghanistan from the 1970's and you will see the majority of women dressed in a more liberated western style of clothing.

My Muslim neighbour never wears veils or the type of clothing that seeks to separate her from her non Muslim neighbours. Apparently, it is not necessary to do so.

It is unfortunate that in the present climate many of us actually care what other people choose to wear, but this growing gap between the different communities in Britain particularly, is a worrying trend for the future.

See the difference between 33:59 that you posted and what it really says. Why don�t you give people the website www.prophet fdoom.net and let people read if they want to read about ISLAM from an anti Islamic website. In fact while doing that they may find truth about Islam. I always wonder myself that why at a time when Muslims are not at their best according to the teachings of Islam and when there is the most difficult time (propaganda) on all sorts of available media and Islam is still spreading. I know why, because after reading false propaganda people go in deep and find about real Islam.

Covering your face completely is more to do with customs and traditions. Especially if it is to do with security then it is not proffered at all.

VHG - To your example of restaurants I know you are talking about waitresses. Perhaps any Muslims would say that they do not allow their daughter (apart from few) to work with other men in isolation and may be that is the reason that when it comes to us being a world�s record holders for teen age pregnancies without the knowledge of the father unless DNA is tested then their daughters are not among them.
