Why do you feel the need to keep swearing.

It only makes you look rather stupid and uneducated.

Most people get their point across without swearing.
At the moment it is legal in the UK. Unlike LSD, popular in the 60s.

Is GBL the latest media drug hysteria then?

I remember the frenzy the press got into about Extacy in the 90s, I seem to remember that it was poppers in the 80s - but I might be wrong.

Trouble is people get all worked up about things like this (see above) before the real risks are properly understood.

Yes it can kill people but so can lots of things the US gets less than a dozen extacy deaths a year.

Compare that with something really dangerous like cocaine or Alcohol ( yes I know a Geezer blue badge for repeating a fact Geezer doesn't like mentioned).

I'm not saying it shouldn't be classified just that hysterical overreaction is counterproductive.

And paintstripper? Solvents? Like malt whiskey?
What is GBL??
Gamma Butylrolacetone sometimes known as liquid extacy

Been around a while sounds as if the papers have suddenly discoverred it after a recent death
How many people die each year from extasy compared with alcohol? Not many....!
Such drugs are'nt a problem until they kill the middle classes.
Like all the middle class heroine users?
Yeah Jake.....addiction is only a problem when you can't afford it.
'How many people die each year from extasy compared with alcohol? Not many....!'

To put this in context you have to re-phrase you sentence 'How many people would die each year from extasy if it were as widespread as alcohol?'

Deaths from extasy is like russian roulette; you never know when its going to hit you. It could be your first ever time taking one tablet with all intentions of never taking it again. Whereas with alcohol you have to be pretty reckless to let it kill you.
Well I could get hold of it in about 10 minutes longer than alcohol.

I don't take drugs btw but if I wanted to it's one simple phone call.
