Bobbisox, sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you were ranting, it was a general comment. It just took me so long to type what I wanted to say that it came after your post rather than after Gromit's, which would have followed on much better. I feel desperately sorry for the families both here and in America, no-one should have to deal with the loss of kin in so dreadful, public and violent an event. However, as I said, I've never been convinced that the person in jail actually did the crime. An appearance at the Appeal Court would have been useful, but I agree with other correspondents that there is a hidden agenda that both Governments are keen to keep hidden. The Scots were damned if they let Mr M out and damned if they didn't. The whole situation, from start to finish, leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth and a sense of lingering unease at what else is being decided on behind closed doors.
