What's the excuse
Had they been black, some people would reason that their gangsta culture makes them behave 'like savages'.
Had they been Muslim, the usual suspects would blame it on their hatred of all things Western.
So how should we approach the thorny subject of young white men behaving as they did last night in East London:

Shame the police can`t do the same at The Notting Hill Carnival this weekend without a riot starting
It would seem that they are already getting ready.

Officers have already seized two samurai swords and arrested 19 people suspected of plotting to cause trouble or deal drugs
Samurai swords, Drugs?????
Makes a little football violence seem like a spot of friendly horseplay.
Around 6,000 police working 11,000 shifts will be needed to cover the Carnival 24 hours a day on Sunday and Monday
Seems like an overuse of police resources to me. But there will still be the obligatory photo of a Black person wearing a policeman's hat, and with their arms around the policeman's shoulders.
Still it is all good propaganda for black/police relations it would seem.

Would you agree that these two stories support the proposition that there is a subclass of violence amongst all young men, regardless of race?
Maybe but why you particularly want remove London from the equation. But even if we do, It is a sad fact that there are more black young men than white young men who are prepared to take their violence to the ultimate end (murder).
I'm genuinely interested in your opinion of white rioters.
You will notice if your vision has not been clouded by your fixation of pointing your finger at Whites, that in my last paragraph I stated that I don't condone violence whatsoever, no matter who carries it out especially football violence

People have no control over the skin colour that they are born with, and there are many decent black people.
What I do have a distaste for is the black culture that some black people take to the extreme.
I may be accused of generalising but one can generally take it for granted that there is a very strong drug culture amongst blacks, a widespread gang culture, violence, gun and knife crime, prostitution etc, etc. The proportion of black prison inmates verify this fact.
Very many people would wish to cover up certain traits amongst the blacks, but it is of no use ignoring these fact they must be brought into the open and discussed so that the causes can be found.

I quite agree, but getting some black people to agree is another thing. The police have pulled out all stops to reach this goal, but the general reply from the blacks is shouts of racial discrimination.

I'm not sure there's a stronger culture of class A drug use among black people. In fact, white heroin addicts in the UK outnumber Afro-caribbean ones by almost four to one. The cost of cocaine prevents it from being used widely among poorer demographic groups. I presume you're talking about cannabis. But I wouldn't expect you to differentiate between different drugs or even know what effect they have(no bad thing).
Funnily enough, while I accept that rap culture embodies unappealling traits of its own, many of the negative traits you associate with black people (drugs, violence, crime) are the very traits that go hand in hand with low income - a group black people are a disproportionately large part of.

There are many white people who live in very poor conditions etc etc but it is rare for them to be involved in gangs that kill each other on a regular basis simply for giving a disrespectful glance.
Blacks are given the very same opportunities as whites and in some cases much better opportunities i.e. reversed discrimination.
So I am afraid you will have to give a better reason than that, to try a make excuses for their violent behaviour.

You are much more likely to be a victim of this kind of crime than you are to be caught up in gang violence, because gang violence remains amongst gangs.

Why are they treated differently? I've love to know why, because for the life of me, I can't see the difference.
