So what do you think should be done about the Muslims?

For starters, the UK should ban schools designed for individual religions. Every single child growing up in Britain should be educated under the same basic rules and understandings, without the influence of any religion. Any parents who refuse this should be jailed or deported. Hopefully this will make even the most brainwashed youngsters get a true perspective on life and want to make their own measured choices in due course.

chirpychirpy, jailing might be a bit harsh. I say the child / children should not be allowed to attend that school if the parents will not abide by the rules.

chirpychirpy's plan will cause great anguish among the middle classes frantically going to church every week so their children will get into CofE schools. Muslims of course would continue to go to mosques outside school hours.

That is a fair point, a while ago I posted a question on that subject, the consensus of opinion was that religion hasn't been the cause of a war since the reformation.

You see, the problem with 'dealing with Muslims', is that you lump a lot of disparate people together. A 47 year old Morroccan-born Muslim doctor living in Aberdeen and a 15 year old Muslim girl born in Leicester are very different from a radicalized Pakistani lad brain-washed by a rabble-rousing Iman in London.

It's like asking "How should we treat White men", based on the actions of football hooligans or paedophiles.

I would like to see the silent majority of muslims (and I do mean silent) making a stand against the radicals. They are the ones who suffer most by being tarred with the same brush. Why is this so?

Certainly not. To brand all White men by the actions of a tiny minority is frankly, mental. It's as mental as branding all Muslims the same, based on the very worst of their religion.

Tara - the 'silent majority' thing isn't really fair either. It's up there with assumption that all Catholics somehow approve of child rape because they haven't taken to the streets denouncing kiddy-fiddling priests.

You have to remember that the vast majority of Muslims in this country have jobs or own their own businesses and don't have the time to organise 'Not In My Name' demos!

We just need to adopt similar policies to Australia. If you come to our country understand that it is a christian country, you adopt our cultures, speak our language and obey our rules. If you do that then your welcome
