Why are they making such a song and dance about this? One more dead terrorist, rejoice, the end.

So you would be happy for a foreign "spy" agency to take details of your passport as you went through that countries airport.

Then for them to make a fake passport using your personal details, then to fly an assasain round the world killing people, using your passport.

That means YOUR details would forever be on every database at every airport in the world as a possible spy, and if at some later date you fancied going on holiday abroad you stand the chance of being arrested at that airport (or even at best stopped and questioned).

I am not sure I would like MY personal details used by a foreign assasain organization in that way.

And can you imagine if you fancied going on holiday to the middle east (Israel, Dubai etc), it would be even more risky, you stand the chance of being killed yourself.

THAT is what the row is about.

There are millions of fake passports and documents generally, just get on and investigate the issue as normal. Why is it splatterred all over the news every day
I cant see that the passport argument has much weight.

Probably just sensationist journalism
just something to report on.
it'll be dropped as soon as katie price farts or cheryl cole has botox.
Amazing how things like this aren't important unless they affect Geezer personally.

If it were *His* identity that had been stolen and *he'd* spent the night talking to Special Branch we'd never hear the end of it!
identity theft is a problem (though perhaps geezer is confident nobody would want his), and the thought that it might be done by a government is troubling.

Not saying identity theft isn't a problem it's just that it's common and it gets investgated and resolved every day. We rarely here of it in the news. This one seems to run and run.....that's all I'm saying!
Well the fake passports are reported to have been sophisticated to the level that only a few countries have the expertise to produce them.

So Mossad's a prime candidate as they are one of only a few with the capability and the motive (although I guess we can't absolutely rule out the US)

Frankly I find it amazing that there are so many sheep on here who are fine with foreign governments murdering people at will just as long as they use the magic "Terrorist" word in the press release.

You don't have to pull the wool over their eyes they do it themselves.

They're so fightened they'll agree to "anything, anything Mr policemen just keep me safe from the terrorist boogey men"

I can hear their knees knocking from here!
Are you suggesting this is an ordinary criminal identity theft?
At least his death does not involve collateral innocent victims. We spend much time in wars killing those who have no influence or part in it. Just think of the millions killed in WWII.

Now that we have sophisticated technology to hunt and destroy those at the top the world will be made a better place in a shorter period of time.

The long drawn affair in Afghanistan could have been tackled in a similar manner.
I wonder what the Foreign Secretary, David Milliband, the son of Jewish immigrants and prominent member of 'Labour Friends of Israel' will do about this.

Nothing would be my guess.
probably tip the press off about katie price farting or cheryl cole .....
not ordinary if the Israeli government was involved, no. It's their possible involvement that makes this a serious news story (to answer Geezer's question).
The Israeli's sent a murder squad to Norway some years ago to kill a "terrorist". They did kill someone, but it was a totally innocent man.
The real "terrorists" are the Israelis. But while they have the support of the USA they feel they can do anything they like.

You seem very hostile to Israel Sandy, are you Palistinian/Arab/Muslim??
No. I'm a London born, white, lapsed Christian.
"Not saying identity theft isn't a problem it's just that it's common and it gets investgated and resolved every day. We rarely here of it in the news."

People fiddle their expenses every day. Does that mean it's a non-story when MPs do it? And what about John Prescott punching someone?
I'm still not sure what all the froth is about.
Is it that some fake passports have been produced using someone elses name? Fair to assume that UK has done this once or twice.
Or is it that some terrorist has been offed. Well our special forces have some previous here as well.
I suspect that as soon as "Israel" gets mentioned then everyone gets self righteous and the rants start.
British sent a murder squad to Gibraltar some years ago. They killed three 'innocent' people: or maybe three terrorists. Did you make a fuss about that Sandy-Wroe?
Obvious....staff at UK passport office un-trustworthy.
