Boris Johnson has cut funding for "Black History Month" from £132,000 to £10,000, "Africa Day's" £100,000 grant from the London Development Agency was axed completely
/// Simon Woolley, director of Operation Black Vote, and recently appointed race commissioner at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the decision to cut Black History Month funding was symptomatic of Johnson's failure to "effectively re-engage" with London's black organisations.///
Why do we continue to fund these miscellaneous Black events/organisations at all?
Black History Month
Africa Day
Operation Black Vote
Etc, Etc, Etc.
Are we not continuously told that we are all equal, when blacks continue to class us apart just because of the colour of one's skin?
Its the usual, if you are midlle aged white man forget anything.
The underlying problem is multicultursm rather than integration.
Personally I believe all such events, no matter what race or creed should be funded by the participants. And this includes the policing of any such event.
You are right AOG we are continuously told we are all equal but nothing could be further from the truth. We are unequal from the day we are born , male-female, clever-stupid, fat-thin, short-tall, healthy-unhealthy, light skin-dark-skin, rich-poor, lucky-unlucky. That's life !
