Which one is the true face of Islam?
Or is it really just a question of your own personal prejudices?

Islam is - believe it or not - a peaceful religion, and thousands of Muslims are not remotely interested in terrorism. We cannot tar all people with the same brush, and extremists and radicals are to be found in many different groups. The few make it difficult for the majority, as happens in so many walks of life. I would say that your second post is representative of the vast silent majority.

Isn't that like looking at American Fundamentalists and the Archbishop of Canterbury and asking which is the true face of Christianity?
That's my viewpoint too, jake - you can't take extremes and say that applies to everyone!
Which is the true face of Christianity?

Both the KKK and Mother Teresa claim to be Christian
Dunno about patriotism being the last refuge of the scoundrel, it seems like organised religion might have claimed that role already.
I find most religions have good and not-so-good sides. The prohttp://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/04/m

arise when religious leaders make their own (warped) interpretations, be it out of fear or lust for power over others. I often wonder what God must think of his 'ground staff' who misuse the gullibility of the masses.

Absolute stupidity
sorry 'bout the wrong link - I'd sent it to somebody else earlier.
Should have checked ;-))
I find that most religions have bad, very bad and totaly irrelevant sides.

I give ground to people like the Salvation Army so its not all

And it didn't make much sense then

You refered to a "true" face that was schizophrenic

Maybe it's late but that sounds like an oxymoron to me

Having said that I would never wish to cause harm to anyone and if at anytime I can do someone a good turn I will. Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone. Life is too short to make wars. We only have one so lets make the most of it and be happy.

The terrorists in Russia are separitists, they wish to leave the Russian Federation and found their own country.
I have seen it several times written on this site "why don't the Muslims demonstrate against the terrorists?"
So they do, and, in so doing they are described as hypocritical etc, they can't win.
If nothing else people who are virulently anti religious demonstrate succinctly that no matter what people do they'll be criticised for it, it's just that sometimes they use the language of liberality.
There are lots of political organisations that assassinate individuals and slaughter indiscriminately, try large swathes of Africa and Nepal.

In answer to your question, no I couldn't, it's a stupid question.
The point is, that I've seen it written on this site "why don't the Muslims protest against terrorism?" then when they do, it's an example of hypocrisy etc.
Your take on religion is entirely different to my experience, my expression and those of ALL the people I've met of whatever creed. The only ones who have launched into diatribes about God have always been atheists, so who's got the problem in reality?
As for hatred and control, politics defines hatred much more succinctly and controls the masses far more succesfully than religion does, or ever has.
