We are often told you have to pay high salaries to get the best people for the job.
Are we getting the best people in the English soccer team ?
What should we pay them ?

The England players donate their match fees to charity. How much their clubs pay them is a different matter but their clubs have actually got a performance out of most of them this season where England certainly haven't.
Where's the link about donating Match Fees to Charity? What a load of ***.
Really? - and just how much is a match fee? - first I've heard of it, link would be interesting please.
Thanks,SUSPECT,I'm wrong again.!!
me too, never heard of it before - but does that make a drop in the ocean against their normal weekly inflated salaries? I still don't know how much a match fee is.
it will be the first time in the national team’s history that the match fees – £750 for a defeat, £1,000 for a draw, £1,500 for a win – will have been put to good causes.

“Individually, £1,500 might not sound like a lot of money but pooled together it can do a lot of good,” one source in the camp said. “The players know that people will point out that they are millionaires who don’t need the match fees anyway but that’s not really the point.
