/// Dr Dreger and her colleagues are concerned that medical attempts to prevent homosexuality will arise in the future if sexual orientation is found to be determined by human biology.///
/// 'Evidence that homosexual orientation is inborn, could very well lead to new means of pathologisation [treating it like a medical condition] and prevention,' they warned in a recent paper.///

Here is the scenario........a pill that is given during pregnancy, to all, pregnant women to suppress a theoretical homosexual gene.
All the progeny would be heterosexual.......so where is your "minority?"
You mentioned the quandary of telling you offspring that you had had the tablet to suppress homosexuality..........why would you need to tell them, as everyone would be heterosexual and so would your progeny?

<<<<Just wondering here, but AOG, how would you have felt if at the age of about 20odd you got told by your parents "oh we made sure we got you genetically changed before birth to suit what we thought was correct"<<<<

Gay people are a minority. You can't catch it, pass it on or teach it. So I don't understand the problem.
Granted, no one would chose for their child to be gay but does it really matter? A minority will have no effect on our species.....
I wouldn't be happy if one of my kids told me they were gay but that's because I've seen the struggle a few of my family members have been through.
Live and let live...

ummmm....I agree with all that you have said, but my point is and has always been, if there is a gay gene, how would mankind benefit.
If the answer was mankind wouldn´t benefit, then why have a gay gene.
Now if a "gay gene" was present at the "inception" of life, over 60millon years ago, then the race would have been wiped out in one generation......not very helpful.
So if there IS q gay gene, it would have been disastrous.
