It has been reported that saliva which may have belonged to Jo Yeates's killer has been discovered on her body.

Is this now a good reason why there should not be a nationwide DNA bank?

If the answer is no, then why not?

Local police have refused to confirm whether or not DNA was found. A newspaper report which is not based on fact is hardly a good basis.

And why this case in particular?

Why stop at the nationwide DNA bank? We may as well as go the whole hog with photos taken every year and us having to report any changes in our appearance appearance in between and a microchip installed in our skulls once we reach puberty so they can monitor our every move!

I have no intention of breaking the law so why should I give up my DNA?

I give you a scenario, a criminal finds your chewing gum, a serviette you have used, a used tissue etc, Takes it and drops it at the scene of a crime.

Suppose someone wanted to do you harm.

I am not a criminal, am not going to be a criminal therefore I have no desire to be treated as such.

And wher would it stop?

Take it all in favour will be happy when they ask for updates of your bank accounts to amke sure you are not depositing money not in line with you income?

So those who think that we should have a national dna bank just how would we get everyone's dna and what exactly would happen to those that do not want to give dna to be held in this bank of yours? Oh and another thing is it impossible for your dna held to be abused or mixed up with anyone elses as I'm pretty sure the Fbi Cia and other government agencies can use scientists to do this sort of thing or is it 100% safe and no problems will ever arise from it? And another thing how long before your DNA was made commercialy available (for sale) so that "for our convinence" the nations health could be checked etc.
