Given the recent gaff by Andy Gray and co regarding femail lineswomen. Would any of the ladies on here care to explain the offside law?

Why do you need a 'derision' key jack?

Anyone interested how the squash went?
(i was playing against the mrs)

in her favour She has 9 years on me, she has a better bat, and er she's a woman.
A 'snort of derision' key.........different.

On account of my not believing you, Mick, that's why............:o)

Well done, Mrs M-T !!
awwww that's nice, you have been patiently awaiting my return jack xxxx ;0)

no i'm afraid i thrashed her, bless her. It does fetch us closer together though, I always call her dear throughout the game.

I don't and am not lying jack.
I didn't say you were lying.................I said I didn't believe you !!
correction ^ I call her 'Dear Liza'

on account of her appearing to have a hole in her racquet ;0)
I think this question is a particularly stupid one.... not all women know it and now all men know it. Those interested in football will, and as for the Andy Gray situation.. if it was a male linesman nobody would of questioned the decision.. I don't feel it is up to Sky to sack him, they should ask the female linesman how she feels about the situation, i would imagine she is mature enough to ignore such petty remarks. At the end of the day refs linesmen and managers all struggle with the off side rule.. when a player is deemed off side you will usually see the manager of the opposite team kicking off..

I just think the whole situation is ridiculous... if she didnt know the offside rule she wouldnt of been hired as a premier league lineswoman.... so she obviously does, end of.. it was a right decision to make..
Yes, I am female and I know the offside rule, having been a football fan for over 20 years.

No I won't explain it to you, because you probably wouldn't understand.

critism of an aspect of how you have performed your job is one thing...pre-emptive critism and pointless assumptions of incompetence solely based on gender at quite another...
i think its important to flag up every instance of this type of thing, in order for it to hopefully be bred out of us in future generations...

never mentioning something or shrugging it off , implies acceptance and does not change it...
Why not end the role of " experts and pundits" on sports programmes .Let see the match game ect and make up our own minds .The millions of pounds saved could go in building up sport in this country. In cases the "experts and pundits " think they are bigger than the game .
