With the rising cost of fuel, do you think it will get poor people with their old bangers off the road and hence improve the motoring experience for the rest of us?

There will be more buses on the road.
'poor people with their old bangers' aren't necessarily bad drivers are they?
In what way do people in older cars interfere with your right to rule the road?
What do you class as an old banger? Cars over how many years old?

Also who do you class as poor? A salary of how much?
The old bangers must have passed their MOT's.
Do you think that those people with newer cars will be able to buy even newer ones if fuel goes to £8 a gallon? More likely there will be more older cars on the road.

buses are good they have lanes for them! If the masses can afford to transport 3 empty seats everywhere with a ton and a half of steel then logically motoring is far too cheap.
Good point ummmm, but MOT's are hardly worth the paper they're printed on

They only verify that the vehicle was roadworthy on the day they were carried out
I'll have to start picking up hitch-hikers on my way to work..
It actually worked out cheaper for me to run a car that to get the bus.
bus prices are now a joke they have soared in price this year !!!!
its cheaper to get the train.
why is you inane trivial post, in news and not chatterbank or motoring?
I agree about buses, and train stocl is only being renewed in the South West and their old rolling stock is being sent up north for the local services and so the train costs are kept pretty reasonable up here. My monthly pass is £149.50 but if i use the car it is £10 a day, so £200 a month
*South East
Hopefully it will get chelsea tractors off the roads
Chelsea tractor owners would probably be the last to let fuel costs influence the amount of driving they do
Whats a Chelsea Tractor?
I don't think the fuel costs would influence how much I drive.
Tigg - Big 4x4's driven by people in cities. Basically driven by people that need them.
Oh those! Think I've got one parked opposite my house.
