So England's wicket keeper has found the need to announce that he is gay, does that mean the others will now have to announce they are heterosexual?

In the scheme of things why do homosexuals think it is so important to announce their sexuality to all and sundry?

/// He said he could no longer bear to lie about his sexuality. ///

/// "I'm comfortable with who I am - and happy to say who I am in public," ///

/// I feel it is right to be out in the open about my sexuality. If more people do it, the more acceptable it will become. That must be a good thing. ///

Do they think that they are that important, and that anyone is at all interested in their sexuality? I know that I am not.

So if Steve Davis were to announce that he was gay, you would no longer find him dull?????

I think you are using the old usage of the word GAY = BRIGHT AND LIVELY.

for gods sake, it was a joke AOG!! When exactly did you have your humour bypass?

If it improves his game it must be a good thing.
I'm a bit surprised that everyone thinks homophobia is history - it seems to me it is alive and well, particularly in sport and religion.
Really ixion?

I ask as I can't think of an example of homophobia in sport.
Couldn't he have just bought himself a badge to wear saying'I like men'?
Let me guess hes "proud" as well
Well he certainly has no reason to feel ashamed...........
p'raps baz is hoping that he is proud in the 'bulging trouser' sense....?
are we bothered???

cricketers can bat for whatever side they choose

Boo, no need for you to get your knickers in a twist, I think it is you who should have the humour bypass.

My post was a play on words in answer to your post, but perhaps a little too subtle maybe?

Robbie Fowler - Graeme Le Saux

Ahh right, sorry AOG, im northern ya know, we don't do subtle ;-)

Apologies.
How many openly gay footballers are there? Shows that we are still in the dark ages. Steven is the only cricketer who has admitted that he is gay. If this helps other sports men and women to know that they can be accepted then it's a good thing.

it'll make his job as wicket keeper easier then
