Notice how the Guardian has mentioned that a right-wing group has asked for a boycott of Greggs? does it matter what political leaning they are, it is still an insult to Christians, had it been another religion they would have gone further than that, people would be dead.

I can just imagine the uproar if an equivalent advert had been done in a similar vain with a certain prophet. There would have been uproar, shops burnt, death threats and the left would have been jumping up and down going on about how it was a disgusting slur on a peaceful religion.

quite frankly, or should that be franklyincense, the sausage roll looks revolting, no i'm not offended, but then i'm not a Christian, merely an ordinary atheist.
//Would They Dare Insult Any Other Religions?//

No, they wouldn't. Crass.
Marketing/advertising ploy.
It's got Greggs talked about, probably not in a good way tho.
I am a Christian and I am not offended nor insulted, just saddened by this.
I quite like a Greggs sausage roll, but this is certainly not going to encourage me to have one!

I dont think it is an insult to Christians, it's the way our country is. It is only of late with the import of another certain religion has intolerance and taking the mick out of ones self been made 'illegal'.
You do realise that Christ was a Jew right, and even if you argue that he wasn't, his parents absolutely were and that it's against the laws of Kashrut to eat anything pork based, and that Christ is a great prophet within Judaism just as he is to Muslims too? Likewise therefore they are offending Jews and Muslims as well and this is a rather self defeating thread.
Good job it wasn't a cartoon then.
//Christ is a great prophet within Judaism //

He isn't.
I think that it is more inappropriate than insulting.
A steak bake might have fitted better in the manger !
I find it ironic the chief executive of the freedom association has called for a boycott.
Oh I'm sorry Naomi, fair enough the traditional era of Prophesy ended with Malachi, so I'll rephrase it to please your pedantic little self. Christ is still an important figure in Judaism, alright? Doubtless you'll argue that as well because that is your nature, but my Jewish family, and a lot of other progressive Jewish people hold Christ in high regard, even though they don't think he was the Messiah . Is that bland enough for you?
Don't you just love the snotty replies from the religious.
I'm actually not religious in the accepted sense, Vulcan, everyone is born into a family who has at some point or another historically adopted some religion or other, my mother's just happens to be Jewish. I'd be just as irritated by some posters if I were a Christian, Muslim, Hindu or agnostic.
kvalidir, //Christ is still an important figure in Judaism, alright?//

No, not alright. Your 'progressive' Jewish family might hold him in high regard but the fact remains that within Judaism he isn't a prophet - great or otherwise - and he isn't an important figure held in high regard. Sorry, pedantic it may be in your estimation, but that's how it is.
Kvalidir 10.00, very good reply .
It's ridiculous that Gregg's have done this.

It obviously should have been pret-a-manger.
oh, Ludwig, very good.

I thought the Wise Men were praying for a miracle to turn the sausage roll into something edible.
As a Christian I am saddened by this advert. As Naomi said "crass"
Ludwig, very good. :o)

Poor little Gulliver at 10.25. She tries.
