My memory of this event is a rather bizarre one:
our primary school teacher asked us to paint a picture of it, which looking back seems like a strange thing to have done.

Yes I remember it even though I was only 13 years old at the time. Terrible tragedy. I had forgotten about it actually, like the Bradford fire, I suppose people move on, unless of course you are from Liverpool.
