Apu And The Simpsons

to apparently.. Apu has been axed from the show because he's a racist stereotype.. (Indian man owning a corner shop) but surely all the characters are racist stereotypes?
Grounds keeper willy? - scottish
Chief Wiggum? American
bumblebee man? Spanish..
Luigi? - Italian chef
Fat Tony? Also Italian
Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky? Jewish representative
These are all highly stereotyped characters because, you know.. It's a TV programme and stereotypes are a collective hypothetical opinion on select groups, so they play on that.
Why is it OK for one joke on a minority but not another??

Mfaybe you should read your link. He is not being axed from the show, it was conjecture by Adi Shankar, who is a producer on the show
"Simpsons executive producer Al Jean, who has been there since the show started way back in 1989, tweeted: "Adi Shankar is not a producer on the Simpsons. I wish him the very best but he does not speak for our show."
