Apparently this person is devastated that they broke covid lockdown rules.

Why do we have more news reports of persons who are devastated (to find out) that they had robbed a local bank?

Without knowing what her father said it would not be fair to comment.

don't
What could he possibly have said that would warrant the journey to be 'essential' ?
Again just half a story, no one knows why she had to go. ?
Bazile, an illness, an accident, feeling suicidal, who knows.
I don't feel I need to know what the distressing call was about, she made the decision based on that.
If it was such an emergency she should have got the police or ambulance to deal with it. It's what they do.
Peeping between the curtains has become a pass time now. Hang on a mo, who's that across the road. :0)
14.14 Families deal with emergency situations as well every day, were possible.

Would those reasons be classed as essential journeys , under lockdown rules ? so
Bazile, I have no idea, that would be up to the local police. All I am saying is that without knowing the facts I don't think disparaging comments are appropriate.
Suspect she is more devastated she got found out
From the report, this is wrong:

"Under the rules of the current lockdown, travel outside your local area is banned unless it is essential.."

But this is right:

"However, there are exceptions for providing care for disabled or vulnerable people or to provide emergency assistance."

Of course we don't know why Ms Holden made the journey.
All I know is that every landmark birthday I have there's always a family emergency involving the contravention of some rule or other.

Luckily I'm not in the public eye and don't have the 'look at me' gene that's so common in the entertaining classes so the world at large never knows about it.
I also tend to keep my decolletage under control for fear of arousing passers-by.

I count my blessings every day.
I'm sure she'll pay any fine happily knowing she did what she thought was right for her parents, just as I would.
But Ms Holden is allowed to do anything we should all know that, if its putting her bins out in full evening dress or just generally clogging up our TV viewing with the rest of the ITV 'presenters' they are elite.
I suspect the urgent phone call was along the lines of "now we've both had the jab we would like to wish you happy 50th birthday in person"
daz, really?

Well neighbours are allowed to contact the police anytime they see her too and they did.
How did the neighbours know the purpose of her outing, she may have been going to the shops for all they knew.
Well in the Daily Mail she was dropped off by a Mercedes. A man unloaded luggage from it and then 'sped off'
