well do you think 16 and going out with a lad of 21 is too old,my mates daughter is going out with the lad im abit thingy about the gap but my mate seems fine about it,he is a lovely lad
Too old in my opinion. He'd have to be something special to sway me. A 5 year age gap is nothing later on - I'm 8 years older than my wife - but at 16, no.
what age did you meet your wife then,i dont totally agree with it myself, but how can you say no its too old then in the next breath say its ok later on.
Because at 16 and 21 you're different people. Or I was.
The differences that are presented in an age gap - views, wants, needs etc become more similar as you get older and hence the age gap seems less significant?
Couples with say a 20 to 30 year 'generation' gap are another case altogether.
hi had to have my say!
I met my (now husband) when i was nearly 16 he was 21, it wasn't a bed of roses as we were both so young but 9 years later we got married and now have a small baby, we love each other more than ever 15 years on, so yes it can work, for sure!
right ill hold my hands up,its my son whos been going out with the girl for a few months now and he only told me the other day,i meet his dad at the age of 15 and 23yrs down the road were still together.so i know it can work out,but i know this is going to sound funny but im not too happy about it.im worried what other people will think,i know i shouldnt but i do,cheers to eveyone though i should have told you the truth.
I think it depends on the maturity of the girl. When i was 16 I went out with lads a lot older than me because all the lads my age seemed very immature. If they get along well i don't think the age gap is a problem:-)
the thing that worries me is shes still at school,in her last year at school,i think im more worried of people saying things behind his back,i dont really like it but at the end if the day its upto him isnt it.thankyou to you all xx
i think if they are both mature enough to bring this out into the open then they both feel secure with each other i met my partner at 17 he was 27 people thought i was crazy im now 31 and were still together so dont fuss over age its lifes happiness that counts
lots of luck lisa
i know your right lisa but you worry about your kids and i just feel shes too young for him,but as everyone has said to me like my friends have, its his life and if it ends in tears then be it.
