for all you people out there that are either married or engaged, how long did u know your partner before u got engaged/married? iv been with this bloke for about 10 months now and things between us couldnt b better. we get on so well. we have discussed eventually getting a place together although not for a while cuz its all a bit too soon. we went to the pub last night and had a few drinks. we were talking about 'us' and he through in the conversation that he feels ready to settle down now and at another point he said 'if we get married....' i wouldnt want to get married for a while yet as i am only 22 but the idea of being with him is very exciting and i hope that we do end up together. is 10 months together to early to be talkin about this kind of thing? x

We didnt start planning the wedding til about 2 years later, at that stage we had a flat with a mortgage. 9 months before our wedding, he left me for another women, who he is now marrying. if you love eachother, then you make it work. i was with my man for 4 years when he left me.i think, you can be together for 10 months, or 10 years, but you never know whats around the corner. So dont rush into it.
my ex and i got engaged after 6 weeks together. I was 18 at the time and it took us a further 5 years before we tied the knot as we were busy buying a house and doing other things first. We were together for 10 years before we split.
My partner now hasnt proposed, i doubt he will after we have had failed marriages, but we were discussing having a baby after 2 months together and had set a date of early 2005 to start trying (6 months after meeting). Things were taken out of our hands though as we found out we were expecting 3 months after we met.
Sometimes things are just meant to be and time doesnt matter.

I have been with my guy for just over 8 months and he has proposed. We don't live together yet as I am tied into a mortgage with a friend, but our wedding is booked for summer 2008 and we will be buying a house as soon as possible (unfortunately thats xmas!!!!)
I was with my last bloke 6 and a half years and we never even got as far as living together. It really depends on how you feel. I know 100% that me and this guy are perfect for each other. I love the idea of always having him to come home to. If it feels right then go for it, if not then wait a little longer :-)

Me and my man got engaged after 1 year but had known each other as mates for about 10 years. He moved into my parents house with me after 7 months and after 18 months we'd bought a flat together. The wedding is booked for Sept 2008 and we couldn't be happier. Things have moved quick for us and some people think we're moving too fast but you should only ever do these things at the speed that feels right for you.
My fiance and I had been together for almost 2 years before he proposed. We're due to get married this year and we're both very excited. I don't think 10 months is too soon to be talking about this kind of thing. We basically knew from day one that we had found 'the one' and were not affraid to talk about it early on in the relationship.
A friend of mine ot engaged after approx 6 weeks. They got married a year later and are now very happy parents!
