I have a few questions for the single mum brigade please.

1) If being chatted up by a man in a pub/club/disco or where ever, do you wiegh up potential step-father material very soon after initial chemisty, or much later on?

2) Would you ever keep the fact you are a single mother secret for the time being?

3) Would a single father be seen as an easier target?

4) Can a non-doctor/gynacologist see you have had kids by looking at your minnie? (I am aware not all birds up the duff get stretch marks)

Im not a single parent but pmsl at no 4. Ive never met any one else call it a minnie thought i was the only one!

1) yer i would look at him to see if he would be a good step father if it's gonna be a long time thing he would be a big part of my sons life

4) depends on how bad your baby stretched you bits with me you can tell from a mile away, but if it's a quickie and they don't look it doesn't feel any different when they penetrate than a non child bearing woman

When i was a single mum
1) Never, it just so happens that I wouldnt be with a man who didn't get on with my kids. I am lucky to have a man who wanted to be a father figure to my son.
2) No, always honest
3) To be honest a single father wouldn't be of interest, my kids are work enough!

When I was a single mother:

1) Much later on. I would judge him as father material just as I would if I were in a relationship with him and I didn't have children.

2) No

3) No

4) Not that I know of. Everyone is different 'down there', after all. Put it this way, Mr P's ex wife had a C section. I have only had natural births. There was no way Mr P would have had any knowledge as to what a minnie looks like after a woman has given birth. Besides which most of the time everything shrinks back into place. I had to point out my episiotomy scar to Mr P..it is hardly noticeable.

1) I have been a single mum for a year and have never weighed a man up for potential step father material, I trust someone I would love would be though. I havent let a man I have dated since being single meet my boys yet.

2) No, as soon as someone asks for my phonenumber. I have to say look sunshine Im nearly 30 and I have 2 kids. I seem to attract the boys.

3) Probably. I am friends with a single dad (just a neighbour) that I walk to school with some days and the chav mums up there are all over him.

As for number 4 , well apart from the obvious episiotomy scar , stretchmarks , or c/s scar on women who have had a child , there are changes to the nipples, there is a colour change , usually a darker brownish rather than pale pink.

mamma, prob too much information but whilst I was pregnant I had dark nipples, linea gravida, other drk patches but within weeks of giving birth these peeled off. I look normal now.

Me too Goodie ~ although I didn't have the linea nigra I did have the darker nipples. Mind you I don't think they were ever pale pink!

I knew gravida was wrong and couldnt flipping place it. I was even on the blower to my mum at the time and could have asked her lol

I tried not to be one of those belly hanging out mums but I had both my kids in late summer so I found it unavoidable and this just made the line darker. I quite liked it.... not sure how much I would have liked it if had stayed though.

My question comes from watching About a Boy when Hugh Grant goes to a single mums meeting.

In an ideal world, I would like my own children, and do not really care for others, but at my age most women have a sprogg or three, so I may have to get use to it.

Also, the chances of finding a 25+ virgin is highly unlikely!!!

What a refreshing change for an relevant question to be asked about women's bodies. Recently some men on this site have been condemning the questions about women's bodies. Their prudishness? has led them to complain about appropriate questions asked by women. You on the other hand in your unsubtle attempt to denigrate women, have inadvertently asked an interesting question.

As someone who has never had children, I can not comment on
1- 3
4) genitalia as it is external will not be changed by child birth only gravity! The vagina, cervix and uterus will be definitely changed by pregnancy and childbirth, but without a proper investigation by someone trained, no it will not be detectable.
As for nipples, the development of dark aureoles is often associated with pregnancy but can occur at other times as well. Seems to be one of those vagaries of life really.

You have already answered the issue of stretch marks. It would be very emabarssing for some men if these only occurred during pregnancy. They occur with significant weight change so men get them as well.
