I am still puzzled why so many unbelievers bother to show any interest in matters of belief and religion.
It would be like me suddenly posting on a cookery thread.
Not going to happen.

Perhaps because other people's religious beliefs affect them?

mainstream inconsistency - they post on religion threads

so it is NOT like you suddenly posting on a cookery thread. You state it isnt going to happen - whereas it does happen for them and religion
so it isnt like - it is completely unlike

because.... ( they post - not why do you have no interest in cookery and yet you eat ...) they post because you dont have to be religious to wonder where you/one came from and where you might be going.
and then seeing if religion has any better ideas that Stephen Hawking
Maybe because they are fascinated a) why people believe in such things and b) why you still insist that being an "unbeliever" is some sort of religion.
Another failed experiment draws to a close and we revert to type.
For many of us it has been a difficult road undoing the influence religion continues to hold over us. Part of the healing process involves attempting to warn others of the dangers of religious influence and helping them in their struggles to return from the dark side.

But the atheist insist they came from nowhere, have no purpose, and go back to nowhere when they snuff it.
So why waste valuable limited time arguing with believers?
Surely they would be better off engaged in more hedonistic pursuits?
If some are trying to seek understanding of the universe, why come to this address?

We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.

I am not a numpty when it comes to social and economic history and the part that religion played in it.

I'm trying to work out if my last post was removed because it contained a mild expletive, whether someone took the phrase literally (as opposed to it's actual mening: making fun of) or whether it was considered offensive to entertain the notion that someone might visit R&S to make fun of people. Either way, I apologise if someone was offended.
I affirm my right to refute the claims made by believers of me as one who does not subscribe to the beliefs nor their presumptions.
