My continental quilt has become bunched up and patchy (man made fibers) will dry cleaning restore the restore it to its original condition, or is it time to replace it with a new one ?

My guess is that they just clean it not spread the filling out.
Maybe some pet charity can use it.

My answer is to treat yourself to a nice new one, they arent that expensive these days (and Im told Tescos were selling theirs at half price recently) that done you can donate your old one to your nearby animal rescue centre/dog rescue.
I'm not sure dry cleaning will restore it ChipChop, and the cost of doing so is probably better put toward a new one. Have a look round now while the sales are still on.

Places like Dunhelm, Matalan, dept stores or the supermarkets.
Time for a new quilt, Chip.
Probably £10 - £15 to have it cleaned, or £20 - £30 to replace it.
Not worth getting it cleaned IMO. Prices of duvets have really come down so go on, treat yourself.

Took my old duvets to the dog kennels and they were delighted with them.

Planned on getting a new duvet this weekend funny enough and was just going to dump my old one in my skip.
Never thought that animal shelters might need/could use, them, thanks maggie ;-)
Our local animal sanctuary is grateful for old duvets, pillows, towels and bathmats etc. Always take them there.
I don’t believe you can dry clean a quilt. Something to do with the fumes.
Get a new one

Thank you all for your kind advice. I'm now convinced about getting a new one, to put in the new covers I have bought.
If I Can find an animal shelter or kennels that can use them, then I'll do that too.

Cheers____Chip
Or you could try giving it a darned good shake first.
My duvets are made from wool and they are the best duvets I've ever had, and I've tried them all from goose down to man made.
Chipchopper, check if you have a RSPCA rescue centre near you.
