I think... i think it was me that said it wasn't it? Or did i dream it?
No i was wrong. What i actually said, during the hours of consciousness, was "Westlife are sh*te"
The earliest known use of this phrase was in 1998, when the band first appeared on UK television, winning "Best New Tour Act" at the Smash Hits Awards in November 1998.

Although many claim to have been the first with the phrase, of the 40 million British people to have uttered the phrase (or a variation thereof) perhaps one of the best claims goes to dad Micky O'Donnell, who was forced to endure their torpid set when he took his 4 year old daughter to see Boyzone on their November '98 tour.

"I remember thinking, dear god - isn't their enough of this souless corporate rubbish already! This Westlife are talentless individuals."

This outburst was caught by an ambitious reporter from Ireland's RTE channel, who lowered themselves to covering such an inauspicious event.

Waldo - i got a 60 fine and 3 points for doing 45mph in a 30mph limit today - you've just cheered me up!
Aye well though they made be talentless, I would like to have the money they have in the bank and the amount of women they have chasing them wouldn't be too rough either eh? So, although they couldn't tell one end of a decent song from another, who's really laughing at who??
I am laughing at them, sft42! :-)

I haven't sold my soul for a wooden nickle.
