Diabetic Dog
1 Answers
My male 3 year old Yorkshire Terrier was diagnosed as a diabetic four months ago. Despite countless visits to the Vet for blood and glucose tests not to mention trying to stabilise his insulin intake - 2 injections a day - he is now sicker than ever. The Vet has now recommended that he sees a Specialist to have his pancreas scanned to see what is going on. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience with their dog and if so, did your dog become well and its old self again? I'm at my wit's end........

"My dog nearly died of pancreatitis which stabilised and became diabetes. She
stabilised fairly quickly and apart from cataracts which set in very quickly,
she is quite chipper.
This dog sounds to be suffering from an added complication, although what
it is I have no idea. I imagine the vet may be thinking a growth on the pancreas. I hope things improve when they stabilise the diabetes."
Sorry if its not much help, but if there are any other replies I will post them.
