I must translate a poem by Ruth Fainlight, where I have come across the following:

that faint narrow path which lured
Deep into the misty forest...

Is 'faint path' a particular kind of road? I keep fining it mentioned in geographical directions in google, but nowhere else.

I am sure the word faint is used to indicate that the pathway is not distinct. Possibly a walkway which is seldom used.
