Nerves!!
16 Answers
Getting married on Saturday. Had the rehearsal last night which went well, though I was incredibly nervous. Can anyone recommend anything to settle nerves? The wife-to-be is a big believer in Rescue Remedy...

I like the sex one.. breathing techniques I use all the time anyway lol. The nights out with the boys won't dry up, the wonders of a partner on shift work ;o) When a baby comes along, that's when my life as I know it ends ;o).
Oh, and I smoke already but find it doesn't help with nerves nowadays :o( Just scrambles my brain!
A wee glass of brandy does wonders. It doesn't upset your stomach - tends to settle it, in fact. I used to keep a wee bottle in my vestry at the church so that I could give a wee drop to bridegrooms if they were a bit nervous before the wedding. Don't worry about the wedding service - forget everything you ran through at the wedding rehearsal. It will all be there somewhere in your mind anyway - and if therer are any problems whoever is conducting the service will whisper anything you need to remember. Just enjoy!
Just got back from honeymoon.
It went very quickly but surely the happiest day of my life!! I took RevShirls advice in the end and had a couple of shots of neat brandy before the ceremony. Settled the stomach and calmed the nerves for a while. Had Rescue Remedy too, and Diah-Limit, just in case!
Once the ceremony was done, everything else was plain sailing! I think my adrenal gland had shrivelled to the size of a pin head so I had no nerves for the speech really.
Only a couple of mess ups by the hotel staff at the reception. No champagne to toast with, wedding cake wasn't brought out until 11pm (by which time most people had gone) and the flowers for the mum's weren't ready when I needed them for my speech.... Getting a 450 refund though, which will pay for the overdraft caused by the honeymoon.
