Miserable and depressed
10 Answers
I have been like this recently at work. Due to the change of department structure at work, we now have to do different tasks. The tasks that I am doing these days Is horrible compared to what I used to do. I am not enjoying it what so ever as it’s a complete headache. Its stressing me out. Whats even more stressing me is that I feel like have got the short straw doing the worst of tasks as everyone is keeping up with theirs. I am now getting depressed as I have cut off from my colleagues as I don’t spend time with them at lunch or break times. I am beginning to despise them. I think people have noticed this change in me as one particular colleague that I am friends with has started avoiding me. She knows I am fed up but she doesn’t talk directly to me anymore. She spends her time chatting and laughing with everyone else. I have become reclusive. I greet everyone in the morning but I no longer indulge with them as I used too. I keep a low profile. I was never really chatty anyway but I was popular by being very nice & polite to people (not saying I am not nice anymore). I have become more private.
Generally, I have this stupid thing of being reclusive when I feel down and depressed. I can’t help it. I tend to shut myself off from the world and just stay in my own space. Others wold always communicate more to get over it. I can’t help being like this?
I know work is work, you just get on with it, its not as if we doing it for free. How can I stop feeling so Miserable? How can I come out of this ? I think even my manager has noticed this ? She’s a great lady anyway.

Not just a chat in passing but a "can I have a word" chat. Try not to get too emotional but be clear. Tell her that you're not enjoying the new tasks as much as you did your previous role and wonder if there's anything she could do to help ring the changes for you.

Everyone, including my manager thinks i am ace at doing this. I have got this reputation of being accurate and methodical. The job im doing is easy but the paper work is awful ? So collating it all on an excel spreadsheet is a nightmare ? Now ones is doing it but me cos they think i am so good :(
Im not bad, really ? But everyone else is going with the flow...apart from me

Sorry to hear of your situation CC, so awful for you, Im in a similar situation too so I really do understand your concerns. However, could something else be attributing to the way you are feeling - as in so low ? Are there any other outside things that may be worrying you as sometimes one problem can make everything seem awful.
