Well, what can I say about this film. It might have been very scary in 1955 but by today's standards it was more funny than menacing. You felt you could reach out and knock down the scenery. That being said, Robert Mitchum and Shelley Winters were very good - just a very far fetched storyline.

A classic. I will watch again if it was on TV. The music as the children are escaping is haunting.
