Thank you Stuey for your advice , I'm using rechargeable batteries D size , not button cell , which I've been using over the years that I've had the clock , therefore if I purchased Duracell copper top batteries ,then perhaps the cuckoo and the water wheel will work , as I'm still puzzled why the bottom motor which seems to be the main one for both the cuckoo sound ,and for the water wheel , as the top motor seems to operate the cuckoo to come in and out of the clock door . I'm definitely going to take you advice and , and I will be purchasing 2 D size Duracell copper top batteries . Thank you Stuey
