Thanks to both. If it is trundle which is what I thought, I cannot get a legendary Gaelic poet. I thought it was Ossington but the second s would have to be a t for trundle

I've found the puzzle - if "Ossian" is correct, the "truck" pattern would be - I?U?D?E - so I'd suggest there may be a setter's error in play.
