We all know that drinking plenty of water is good for you, but what about people who don't like drinking water ?.... is drinking cordial - like Robinsons Orange just as good for you as normal water - after all, a cordial drink is 80-90% water if not more...

Other than drinking water, are there any foods or drinks, which are good for kidneys ? and out of interest, what does kidney pain feel like ? is it just lower back pain or other symptoms ?

thanks

Just make a glass of cordial ,weak if you
have a tummy bug ..drink loads of water
to flush your kidneys ..best option is
to go and see your GP ...
All liquids are good for the kidneys to flush out any toxins. without liquids the kidneys can't work. however, liquids can be found in food, notably soups and stews. Drinking water boosts your liquids considerably as that's all they are; liquids. Drinking cordials means the sugar has to be broken down. amongst other things but no problem if you drink enough and don't already have a high sugar content in the bloodstream. If you don't like water, like me! drink plenty of weak drinks such as tea etc.
Sorry, I don't know what kidney pain can be like. I know when you get dehydrated you do get lower back pain but by drinking a few glasses of water over the next couple of hours relieves the ache.
Kidney pain for me started as a dull ache in my back and then became sorer and sorer over time. My doctor advised me to drink water while taking the antibiotics for the infection, but she also said that if I'm not keen on drinking water that cordial or anything made with water is as beneficial
I've had kidney & urine infections in the past, so do feel for you. I've also passed a kidney stone (worst pain ever) & was advised by the consultant not to take any more calcium tablets.

The water in our area tastes vile sometimes, but I won't buy bottled as I think it's a rip off! So - I drink 4 - 6 large glasses of weak Robinsons Orange Barley Water a day. This seems to keep the water works in order.

Best to see your gp & hope you feel better soon.
