How do I tell someone they are my best friend

I have a friend named Kyle and he's a real loyal friend...he's always there 4 me no matter what. The thing is that we are both guys so how would I tell him that he's my best friend without sounding weird?

You don't say how old you are, but the usual format for this kind of relationship is that it's an understanding between you, which is not normally referred to directly.

If you want him to know, drop it in conversation with mutual friends, it will probably get back to him that way.

Seriously though - If you and he are good friends and spend all your time together, he probably knows anyway. It really is only primary school children who need to discuss who their best friend is.

If you really feel that you want him to know, couldn't you do it a bit less directly. Coming out with a speil about him being your best friend might embarrass him. Maybe on one of those occassions that he is being 'there for you', you could say that you really appreciate his friendship. He should get the message.
