Mephisto

I won a prize for submitting the 2665! I am not gloating, because it is a huge lottery when you submit any completed grids each week. Sometimes I have to ask you kindly respondents for help/confirmation of a final letter in the Mephisto (can't remember if I had to for this one, but want to say thank you if you did!). The £20 prize will go a little way towards paying for all the postage stamps applied to regular crosswords I post in!!!
P.S. I no longer do the Independent prize crosswords, but when I used to do them regularly, I won over a dozen OED's over a few years and donated them all to our local school - odds of winning must be a lot higher than for The Times ones!

Have just printed a copy of the Azed and will have a go!
Noticed they have a 'clue writing' competition. Have you ever tried writing clues and submitting them, K? I'm sure you would be brilliant at it. I had great fun submitting clues weekly to The Sunday Times for years, but obviously not good enough, so stopped bothering about a year ago!
