The Club is now Open

Good evening all on another rather chilly night.

Do come in and make yourselves comfortable here in front of the fire in the Great Hall whilst we await the usual sumptuous array of drinks and nibbles.

Sadly, lordalex cannot be with us this evening as he is tied up.
I did warn him about trying macrame again, but he's a game old bird and insisted on giving it another go.
Uncle Joe is assisting with the big scissors but it looks as though they will be at it for some hours yet.

For tonight's raffle, so far I have

A small ball of macrame twine
A bag of barley sugars
A set of binoculars...one lens gone wonky.

Good evening Ladyalex. Can I offer a pair of gloves I found on the street, for the riffle. Do you have any exciting cocktails tonight?
Question Author
Good evening, Tenrec.
Thank you so much for the gloves, they will do very well.

I'm waiting for Mamya to produce the cocktails, but have heard a rumour that she may be absent tonight....if she doesn't turn up soon, we'll have to improvise. (Won't be the same, though.)
I have some Damson Liqueur I was given. It isn't as nice as Damson Gin, but you could add it to something to make a cocktail.
Good evening m'lady - I must apologise as I will be unable to perform my butlery duties tonight due to circumstances beyond my control.
Question Author
Sounds delicious, tenrec.

Do come closer into the fire and keep warm.

Where is that butler ? Don't say he's made off with Mamya !!

Maj, I was just talking of you ...an absentee butler, as well as an absentee Matron and cook general....sounds as though we're going to need all the liquor we can get tonight.
Good evening Ladyalex, I've brought some nettle wine, green tea bags and a coconut - will that suffice/
Question Author

I'm planning a walk with the family tomorrow, so just a small tailcock for me please. I've already had a glass of Gwurtztraminer before I set off.

Welcome, maggibee and thank you for the prizes.
Do have some Absinthe Friends *.

Would you like to give us a 'turn' whilst you're here, Kate ?
I've heard your impressions of birdsong are legendary.
Ladyalex that reminds me of a joke - what is the smallest British owl?

A teat-owl.
Question Author
You must be careful with that stuff, tenrec....can play havoc with your gums...
Sorry I think it should have been the rarest not the smallest.
Ladyalex, my teeth are rotten so don't suppose it matters about my gums much!
